A Kentucky Voices Staged Reading of the writings of our beloved friend, Dr. James D. Skaggs.

Dr. Skaggs began his writing career as a member of "Western Writers" and as editor of the College Heights Herald at Western Kentucky University where he graduated with honors in English in 1961. He continued his studies in creative writing and English literature at Vanderbilt University, where he was awarded the MA and Ph.D. degrees in English and American literature. He served on the faculties of several major universities, including George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Puerto Rico. He retired to the historic home Boxwood in Bowling Green, where he lived and continued his writing and teaching in classes in literature and writing for his undergraduate alma mater. Dr. Skaggs wrote over ten books of poetry and prose.

Local actors will be reading selections from Dr. Skaggs's writings. Tea and refreshments will be served.

This is a fundraiser for PTK. No refunds will be forthcoming. Due to the intimate nature of the Phoenix Theatre, latecomers will not be seated. We suggest arriving 20-30 minutes before show time to choose your preferred seat. Cell phones are not permitted. Seats are general admission.

Due to mild language and adult themes, this staged reading is rated PG-13.
